Plyometrics
Those who are not aware of how elite athletes get and stay that way have probably never heard of plyometrics or how to properly use the plyometric method with plyometric exercises for the best benefit. What many don’t know is that this effective exercise technique started out as a simple exercise in the eastern regions of this world.
Plyometric Origins
Keep in mind at the beginning that Plyometrics was not even called “Plyometrics”. The creators originally referred to it simply as ”Jump Training”. It wasn’t until Eastern bloc countries started to dominate track events that it even became important. It was the that the world wanted to know more about this training . . .
Plyometrics Timeline
When we refer to the aforementioned track and field events we are speaking of the 1920’s. And even then the plyometric training was specific to track and field related athletes. The real exposure for the plyometric workouts came in the 1970’s when other sports started to adopt some of the training principles. Of course this was accentuated by those sports that require explosive speed and agility.
